Technical hiring for non-technical founders

CodeAx.ai

The friction

For a founder without an engineering background, technical hiring is an act of faith. Screening consumes the most expensive hours in the company — senior engineers pulled off the roadmap to interview — and still leaves the decision opaque. The market wanted a remedy. But any remedy that felt like an automated exam would repel the very candidates it hoped to attract.

The position

We resolved the tension by refusing the language of testing altogether. CodeAx was framed not as a gatekeeper but as a trusted co-pilot — an instrument that returns judgment to the founder rather than taking it away. The verbal identity led with empowerment: Hire engineers without being one. Reclaim engineering time.

The system

The visual identity reads as native to the world it serves. The developer’s < /> becomes the mark — but the slash is reborn as a checkmark: code screened, code approved. Set in ink black with a single electric-blue accent, it signals enterprise-grade seriousness without the chill. The glyph stays technical; the warmth lives in the wordmark, not the symbol.

The outcome

A brand that converts technical complexity into executive confidence. The platform’s own case is concrete — time-to-hire cut by up to 80%, and $10K–$25K saved per technical hire — and the identity was built to make that promise credible at a glance.
